It is with great relieve I can announce that one of my New Year’s resolutions have been meet. The New Year’s resolution was to finish a big unfinished project.
I have always dreamt of a patchwork blanket…but I am not very good at sewing. Luckily I have some knitting friends who are very inspiring. Thanks girls, for giving me the confidence J, P, H and G – without you taking me to the Liberty sale (for fabric) and the inspiration…there would have been no blanket. This is an account of my short flirt with sewing and now back to the knitting.…and the more serious New Year’s resolutions.
The cats love the blanket already.

This blanket is crochet by my granny. When she said she would like to crochet me a blanket, it did not take me many days to get to the yarn shop.
I might knit my sweaters twice (because I unravel them) but I do not think I would have the patience for this. Therefore there will only be one blanket like this, but what a blanket.
Recommendation: crochet a blanket yourself or persuade somebody else – as it is worth effort.

It may look the same – the yarn, the needle size and the stitches are the same, but it feels a little different. Maybe it is the memory of a hat I liked or maybe just a memory that I feel the new hat is not able to compete with. A nice memory is of course always difficult to compete with… I like my new hat and am very careful not to loose it again but the original is my favourite. Hopefully somebody else in Greater London is wearing my old favourite hat – please take care.

Amsterdam is fantastic. The knitting shop De Afstap is always nice (www.afstap.nl). The shop is central and if you are in town it is a nice place to visit.
But what is of special interest are the knitted garments locals are wearing…. This sweater is knitted by Harry’s mother, but the design is Harry’s…

And the funny things made by wool.
Standing in a marketplace while my little sister and her friend are shopping – hmmm surely I have no addiction to knitting…
