Felting is fascinating but as the final result cannot be unravelled I have never had the courage. But this hat is so fantastic that I am tempted to give it a try. We saw the hat while walking the streets of Utrecht – The Nederland. It can be found at the Hat museum in the centre of town…

It is with great relieve I can announce that one of my New Year’s resolutions have been meet. The New Year’s resolution was to finish a big unfinished project.
I have always dreamt of a patchwork blanket…but I am not very good at sewing. Luckily I have some knitting friends who are very inspiring. Thanks girls, for giving me the confidence J, P, H and G – without you taking me to the Liberty sale (for fabric) and the inspiration…there would have been no blanket. This is an account of my short flirt with sewing and now back to the knitting.…and the more serious New Year’s resolutions.
The cats love the blanket already.
I love knitting socks because they are:
- Quickly made
- Nice project when you want to travel light
- Supports knitting in all positions
- Are nice to wear
Not only were these socks nice to knit but because the pink yarn is bought when I was in San Francisco and the black yarn when I was in Switzerland, the yarn brings back nice memories.
The little lace pattern is very easy and you just have to repeat the pattern below of 7 stitches:
Row 1: knit 1, purl 2, knit 2, purl 2
Row 2: knit 1, purl 2, knit 2 stitches together, yarn over, purl 2
Row 3: knit 1, purl 2, knit 2, purl 2
Row 4: knit 1, purl 2, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together, purl 2
Respeat row 1 to 4

What do you do when you want to knit your husband a sweater and you would like him to wear it when it is finished? … well one way is to give him influence over the design. Result a red line that is made with the intarsia technique. I do not like to knit with this technique at all, because I feel that the knitting looses some of its flow, but I liked the design and hoped that it would make my husband use the sweater. It worked!
